Muslims measure the passage of time using the Islamic (Hijrah) calendar. This calendar has twelve lunar months, the beginnings and endings of which are determined by the sighting of the crescent moon. Years are counted since the Hijrah, which is when the Prophet Muhammad migrated from Mecca to Madinah (approximately July 622 A.D.)
The Islamic year has twelve months that are based on a lunar cycle. Allah says in the Qur'an:

"The number of months in the sight of Allah is twelve (in a year) - so ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and the earth...." (9:36).

"It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory, and the moon to be a light of beauty, and measured out stages for it, that you might know the number of years and the count of time. Allah did not create this except in truth and righteousness. And He explains His signs in detail, for those who understand" (10:5).
And in his final sermon before his death, the Prophet Muhammad said, among other things, "With Allah the months are twelve; four of them are holy; three of these are successive and one occurs singly between the months of Jumaada and Sha'ban."
The months of the Islamic year are:

1. Muharram ("Forbidden" - it is one of the four months during which it is forbidden to wage war or fight)

2. Safar ("Empty" or "Yellow")

3. Rabia Awal ("First spring")

4. Rabia Thani ("Second spring")

5. Jumaada Awal ("First freeze")

6. Jumaada Thani ("Second freeze")

7. Rajab ("To respect" - this is another holy month when fighting is prohibited)

8. Sha'ban ("To spread and distribute")

9. Ramadan ("Parched thirst" - this is the month of daytime fasting)

10. Shawwal ("To be light and vigorous")

11. Dhul-Qi'dah ("The month of rest" - another month when no warfare or fighting is allowed)

12. Dhul-Hijjah ("The month of Hajj" - this is the month of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, again when no warfare or fighting is allowed)

Intentions of hooligans

British "The Sunday Times" noticed a big article about organising Croat, Serb, and Czech hooligans with purely intent of insulting black players during football world cup in Germany.

Article wich signs Bob Graham is based on confidentialy stories an Czech Skin Head and Serb named Dragan Banović who has intoduce himself as Arkan`s soldier and one of the Delija`s (F.C. Red Star`s supporters) leaders.

According to claiming of these men, Czechs are already deal with Serbs and Croats to accomplish their toughts.

Weak spot of all this story is fact that "east razis and nazis" don`t have a clue about this. Or at least they assert that. Some of eminent Croat supporters have never heard for this plans.

"Delije" are already told their story telling that they don`t know who the Banović is.

The trust is a huge gamble

Let’s play a game, a more exotic one. Imagine you have committed a crime together with a friend. You are caught by the police, separated from your friend and you are both being interrogated. You have two options: either to betray your friend and admit to everything or to keep your mouth shut hoping your friend will do the same. What should you do?
Well, let’s see what are the advantages and disadvantages of each one of these choices. We have to take into account what both persons choose to do, because they both influence the general outcome of the situation. The police have already established that: if one person confesses to the crime and the other one keeps quiet, the first one goes free and the other spends 10 years in jail. If they both confess, they both get 2 years in prison. If both keep quiet about what happened, then due to lack of evidence, they will both get a minor-6 month in prison-conviction.
So if you are one of the two, you have to always take into account what the other person might do. You might decide, on a first assessment of the situation, that it’s better to take the safe way and confess. In this case, no matter what the other one does, you won’t get more than 2 years in jail, or you might even go free if you betray the other person and he/she doesn’t betray you. But on second thought you might realize that if you both cooperate and don’t betray
each other the general outcome is better-you will both get less time in prison. Of course if you choose to keep quiet the risk is greater because you can be betrayed and then you’ll rot in jail. The thing is-will you trust the other and take that risk?
This is called the Prisoner’s Dilemma.

Music all around us

Have you ever asked yourselves what's with all this music that you listen to almost everywhere you go? Where does it come from? What generated it? Does it have a message?

Have you ever thought about the fact that art is, as it always was, a reflection of present times and that you are subjected, unwillingly, to a huge dose of news everyday? You go on a bus and listen to the music, you go out and you simply have to listen to the music, even on TV, especially during commercial breaks you get to hear the latest tunes. You are being exposed daily to other people's view on the world; you are up-to-date no matter what you do. And you don't even know it.

Music is a form of art and art is a mirror of the times it's being created in
.. or something different

Immortal true

Zapis o zemlji
Mak Dizdar

Pars fuit Illyrici, quam nunc vocat Bosnam,
Dura,sed argenti munere dives humus.
Non illic virides spacioso margine campi,
Nec sata qui multo foenore reddat ager.
Sed rigidi montes, sed saxa minantia coleo,
Castella et summis imposita alta jugis.

Iani Pannoni Quinque: Elegarium Liber (El VI)

A zapitani odgovor njemu hitan tad dade:
Bosna da prostis jedna zemlja imade
I posna i bosa da prostis
I hladna i gladna
I k tomu jos
Da prostis
